What are chiropractic qualifications?

Chiropractic Qualifications

In the UK to become a chiropractor you need to have passed a recognised chiropractic qualification. Only three Universities in the UK have been authorised by the General Chiropractic Council to provide this qualification. Your chiropractors at The City of London Chiropractors Clinic have a degree in Human Chiropractic certified by the University of Wales. Your chiropractors are also members of the General Chiropractic Council.

Chiropractic qualifications now take 5 years and include many modules similar to medical school. The practical skill of spinal manipulation and mobilisation are developed throughout that time. To register as a chiropractor with the General Chiropractic Council your chiropractor has met a number of additional criteria including:

  • Criminal records check
  • Health review physically and mentally
  • Character references

Each year a chiropractor is required to add to their chiropractic qualifications by completing continued professional development.

A chiropractic qualification is authorised by the education committee of the General Chiropractic Council.
